SCORE SAMPLE

Text: I - In the Fire
In festen schlaf verschließ ich dich

Ho Jo To Ho Oh Yo yo yo yo
In Childhood’s early dream, I was a Valkyrie
A fearsome maid with sisters eight
I loved men’s fights and flew to strife
But when I defied my father’s wife
My loud rambunctious tone
Ho Jo To Ho, Oh Yo yo yo yo
Was silenced long ago

My father’s kiss upon my brow expelled me from Valhall
Defiant maid with sisters eight
Made me believe there was a place
for big, strong gals lacking ingenue grace
My loud, obnoxious tone
Ho Jo To Ho, Oh Yo yo yo yo
In fire now must go

The cruelest start to epic tale these
Ho Jo To, Ho Jo Ho’s
From brassy maids, with sisters named
for shrieks and screams and rages
But what am I, if not thy will - in slumber lock’ed fast
And will her name at last be sung
or hidden from our stages
Ho Jo To Ho, Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
Now I must be patient?

So here I wait - in fire, consumed - No battle cry to sing
A hero free will come and wake Brünnhilde of The Ring.
And yet we find at saga’s end no kiss was ever needed
And if that’s true, could it be, that I was never sleeping?
