The title When it hits the ocean below is a simple phrase alluding to something called ‘Iceberg Calving’ which, as we know, is happening more and more often due to global warming. This description indicates much more, however, in that when an iceberg is ‘calved’ (birthed) from a glacier or ice shelf it creates a tremendous amount of noise and impact. The ‘calved’ ice appears to move in slow motion, it is so large. Some have been known to trigger earthquakes and, depending on the size, tsunamis.
